Contract: 20 hours per week (fixed term)
Salary: €20,685 p.a. pro-rata (€10.20 per hour)
Reporting to: Manager of MDRC

About the role
Milford & District Resource Centre (MDRC) seek to hire a Clerical Officer to work on the Front Desk. We are seeking a friendly and professional individual who can contribute meaningfully to this community organisation. The job involves working on the front desk/reception of the resource centre and all associated administrative and IT tasks, including answering the phones and dealing with customers. The position is part-time (20 hours per week) and is based in Milford & District Resource Centre. Due to the nature of the work, remote working is not possible in this role.
Purpose of the job – including key tasks and areas of responsibility
Reporting to the Manager of Milford and District Resource Centre, the duties of the Clerical Officer will include, but will not be limited to:
- Managing the front desk of Milford & District Resource Centre, including staffing the phones, answering email queries and helping members of the public who call into the centre;
- Facilitating printing, photocopying, scanning and internet access for members of the public using the resource centre;
- Managing room and facility bookings at the centre and for partner organisations in Milford and the wider district;
- Maintaining databases in full accordance with GDPR;
- Word processing, document formatting and printing of documents;
- Other duties in support of the effective operation and development of Milford & District Resource Centre as requested by the Manager and/or the Board of Directors.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- At least two years’ experience working in a similar administrative and clerical role;
- At least one year’s experience working in a customer-facing role;
- Competency in Microsoft Office programmes, particularly Microsoft Excel;
- A flexible approach to working on different projects, tasks and to different deadlines; and
- A full, clean driver’s license.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in database management;
- Experience in managing bookings; and
- Competency in spoken and written Irish.
Conditions of Employment
The conditions of employment which apply to this post will be in accordance with the guidelines in issuance for the operation of the Community Service Programme (CSP). Please note that this position is subject to funding and that those guidelines may be subject to change.
Salary: €20,685 per annum.
Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlements are 20 days pro-rata.

Milford & District Resource Centre (MDRC) seek to hire a Graphic Designer. We are seeking a creative and professional individual who can contribute meaningfully to this community organisation. The job involves working on in-house graphic design for MDRC, its social enterprise, and the adjacent charity shop. It also involves creating bespoke graphic design for clients of MDRC and Community Business Services. The position is part-time (20 hours per week) and is based in Milford & District Resource Centre. There is an option for blended remote working.
Purpose of the job – including key tasks and areas of responsibility
Reporting to the Manager of Milford and District Resource Centre, the duties of the Clerical Officer will include, but will not be limited to:
- Responsible for all in-house graphic design in support of Milford & District Resource Centre, to include producing design content, publications, and marketing material;
- Creating bespoke designs for clients of Milford & District Resource Centre, including the formatting and printing of booklets, brochures, reports, posters, advertisements, etc.
- Developing and adapting a range of personalised prints, greeting cards and posters for sale in support of the social enterprise;
- Working with the Marketing Officer to generate design content for the purposes of marketing the resource centre and its services; and
- Other duties in support of the effective operation and development of Milford & District Resource Centre as requested by the Manager and/or the Board of Directors.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
- Level 5 Qualification or above in Graphic Design, or two years’ experience working in a graphic design role.
- Experience of working on graphic design within an organisation, using a variety of different online and offline media and channels i.e. websites, social media, digital media, and traditional media channels.
- Experience of producing high quality graphic design content for a variety of customers i.e. publications, marketing material, online/offline advertising campaigns, reports, etc.
- Skilled in the use of various graphic design software solutions and applications.
- A flexible approach to working on different projects, tasks and to different deadlines.
- Full, clean driver’s license.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience of working with targets and key performance indicators in a business or social enterprise setting.
- Competency in spoken and written Irish.
