The Gallowglass Community Centre – Spring 2025 Update
This spring, The Gallowglass Community Centre has been a vibrant hub of activity, offering a dynamic range of programmes that continue to bring the community together in engaging and meaningful ways.
Highlights of the Season:
Baby-Toddler Group:
A welcoming and playful environment for families to connect, offering a space where little ones can explore and parents and carers can socialise. The sessions have remained accessible at a modest cost per family.
Men’s Pilates:
A consistently popular fitness offering, our Men’s Pilates class has been fully booked this season, reflecting its growing reputation and value to attendees.
Active Retirement Group:
Providing a friendly and supportive gathering for retirees, this group continues to thrive. For further information, Emma Doherty remains the point of contact for interested participants.
Line Dancing with Larry:
Always a lively and fun-filled session, Line Dancing remains a hit with the community. With an affordable drop-in fee, these classes continue to attract dance lovers of all levels.
Pilates CL Wellness:
Early morning Pilates sessions have proven to be a fantastic way for participants to energise their day and prioritise their wellness.
Healing Flow Yoga:
A serene midweek opportunity for relaxation and inner balance, Healing Flow Yoga has been offered as a five-week course, encouraging participants to slow down and connect with their bodies.
Milford Yarns:
This creative six-week course has brought together those with a passion for knitting and crochet, fostering both craft and companionship.
Move2TheBeat:
A fun, music-fuelled activity that has kept participants moving and smiling. Final scheduling is still being confirmed, but interest remains high.
Sounds Music Workshop:
A joyful and engaging session for children, encouraging musical exploration and creativity in a supportive setting.
MS Support Group:
A deeply valued group providing vital peer support, understanding, and encouragement. Recently, participants have been enjoying art classes led by Bernadette Hopkins, crafting hand-painted birdboxes that will be featured at an upcoming coffee morning fundraiser.
Community Choir:
Voices have come together in harmony in our Community Choir sessions, building confidence and connection through the joy of singing.
Jane Watt Chair Yoga:
This gentle and accessible yoga course has offered a peaceful way to round off the week. Structured as a five-week programme, it has been well received for its calming approach and physical benefits.
Weekend Availability:
The centre has remained open for private bookings over the weekends, hosting various celebrations and community events in our welcoming space.
Spring 2025 has been a season of connection, creativity, and well-being at The Gallowglass Community Centre. We look forward to continuing to grow and support our vibrant community in the months ahead.
